Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, just 15 kms from the city centre, relegated to domestic services when Narita Airport opened, is now boosting its international flights.Haneda’s determination to capitalise on its central position led to a new runway and terminal being opened last October, an expansion aimed at a 24-hour international hub boosting Tokyo as a getaway destination.
