Hurricane Igor Bermuda
The eastern edge of the eye Fabian, a Category 3 hurricane on the island 5th September passed, the demolition of Bermuda with winds of 120 mph. South Coast was pummeled 20 – to 30 foot waves and caused a storm surge of 10 feet, a temporary increase in sea level by a hurricane – and often the most deadly part of such a storm. The storm tore roofs of many buildings destroyed, some structures and killed four people.
